We've come a long way since our first carton was produced by Dr. Ruben Rausing in 1951. With constant innovation and by standing by our company motto and core values we are now one of the world's biggest suppliers of liquid packaging systems.

Our History

Tetra Pak has been operating in the UK since 1955 - just three years after the parent company itself was founded. We celebrated our 30th anniversary on site in Wrexham, North Wales in 2010.

We are most commonly known as ‘the company that makes the milk and juice cartons' and this is certainly how we began. We started out as one of the first packaging companies for liquid milk and since then the company has become one of the world's biggest suppliers of packaging systems for milk, fruit juices and drinks, as well as many other products.

In 1991 we expanded into liquid food processing equipment, plant engineering and cheese manufacturing equipment. Today we are the only company in the world able to provide integrated processing, packaging, and distribution line and plant solutions for food manufacturing.

Our Motto

Protects what's good Tetra Pak's motto, “PROTECTS WHAT'S GOOD”, is an extension of our vision - a commitment to make food safe and available everywhere. This is about protecting the food within our cartons from harmful light and air, minimising food waste and doing so with minimal impact to the environment.

This also includes our activities across the entire value chain. From suppliers to customers, distribution, our employees, consumers and society, we need to ‘protects what's good'.

So what does this mean? ‘Protects', means to keep safe, defend, guard, nurture and care for. It is an active word that is an extension of our vision. ‘Good', means having the right qualities, being kind, benevolent and wholesome - it is a positive word that we hope our customers will value and that will offer reassurance and choice to consumers.

We seek to work in partnership with suppliers that are innovative, financially solid and committed to our businesses - aiming to jointly promote product innovation. This cooperation enables us to protect the high quality of our supplier's materials.
